Charles Sidney Cheston was a etcher and painter, born in London. Son of the architect, Chester Cheston (who was agent to Lord Amhurst) and brother of the actress Dorothy Cheston. He studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in 1899-1902. His first solo exhibition was at the Colnaghi Gallery in 1929, and he also exhibited widely including: Royal Academy, Royal Hiberian Academy, Goupil Gallery, Royal watercolours Society, and the New English Art Club. His artist wife, Evelyn Cheston, died in 1929 and he published a monograph 'Evelyn Cheston: Member of the New English Art Club 1908-1929' in 1931. A vice president of the Royal watercolours Society, 1950. He lived at Polstead, near Colchester, Essex.
