Born in Edinburgh, Charles Napier studied initially at George Watson's College, Edinburgh, then at the College of Art, 1911-14. He showed extensively at RSA, RSW and RGI and held his solo London exhibition at the Brook Street Art Gallery in 1934. SNGMA, Edinburgh, holds his work and after living near Oxford for many years, he eventually returned to Edinburgh where he died.
