Description
A charming and detailed early 20th Century half length portrait of William Franks, known as Bill, by the artist Vera Whitaker Carr (nee Bowder). The elderly man is depicted in a garden with plants, facing the viewer in a friendly manner. The artist has captured a real sense of character and immediacy in the work. Well-presented in a gilt mount and thin gilt wooden frame, as shown. There is a label from the City of Nottingham Museum and Art Gallery to the reverse. Signed and incsribed on the reverse. On wove.Condition
In very good condition overall, for a picture of this age. There is only some minor scuffing to the frame.
