Vera Whitaker Carr - Early 20th Century Gouache, Portrait of Old Bill
DescriptionA charming and detailed early 20th Century half length portrait of William Franks, known as Bill, by the artist Vera Whitaker Carr (nee Bowder). The elderly man is depicted in a garden with plants, facing the viewer in a friendly manner. The artist has captured a real sense of character and immediacy in the work. Well-presented in a gilt mount and thin gilt wooden frame, as shown. There is a label from the City of Nottingham Museum and Art Gallery to the reverse. Signed and incsribed on the reverse. On wove.
In very good condition overall, for a picture of this age. There is only some minor scuffing to the frame.
