A late 19th-century watercolour by Alice Elfrida Manly (1846–1923), entitled Morning. The work depicts a society woman in an interior setting, seated atop a credenza with her back to the window, a pet bird perched upon her hand and its cage suspended above. Presented mounted in an antique gilt frame with floral ornamentation at the corners. Signed 'Alice E Manly' lower right. On paper.
Condition
Minor discolouration to the watercolour. Light surface wear and small chips to the frame. There is a small moulding loss to the lower right ornament. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
