Description
A fine chromolithograph from the "Statesmen" series in Vanity Fair, showing John Cranch Walker Vivian (1818-1879) who was a liberal politician and MP for Penryn & Falmouth, Bodmin and Truro.
The lithograph is presented in a faux wood veneer frame with card mount. The accompanying text from the publication is attached at the reverse with a framer's label.
On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The frame is in fine condition.

Collection Information
The society magazine Vanity Fair was founded in 1868 and introduced a distinctive type of satirical portraiture new to English journalism. Appearing every week, these caricatures were reproduced by the relatively new process of chromolithography and included many of the best known figures of the later Victorian period.
