An interesting and unusual series of six engravings with aquatint and hand colouring, drawn and engraved by the 19th Century artist C.R. Stock. The series depicts a cockfight, and each stage has an appropriate title and Shakespearean quote below, in the plate. Inscribed within the plate 'London Published by W.C. Lee'.
All six prints are uniformly framed in Hogarth style frames, with dark black lacquered effect and gilt inner and outer beading, as shown.
Unsigned and inscribed. On watermarked laid.Most of the prints are in good condition for their age, with some even surface discolouration and age toning. With plate lines. Plate 1 and 4 have some historic pest damage to the print and backing board. The frames all have some minor scuffing.
