A humorous pair of etchings by the French artist and cartoonist Boris O'Klein (1893-1985), from a well-known series of prints entitled 'The Dirty Dogs of Paris'. These two have been inscribed by the artist with the titles 'Chacun son Tour' and 'A La Queue', and are typical of the artist's anthropomorphic style. Well-presented in thin dark gilt wooden frames, as shown. On wove.

Condition

In very good condition overall. Both works have some light foxing and discolouration, expected for pictures of this age. The frames have only minor marks.

Artist Biography

Boris O'Klein (1893-1985) was a French artist and cartoonist who was born in Moscow and emigrated to France when he was a boy. An anthropomorphic artist, he is known for his numerous prints and watercolors of dogs getting up to mischief. The prints are generally called "The Naughty Dogs" or "The Dirty Dogs" or "The Dirty Dogs of Paris."
