A limited edition etching with drypoint by Kurt Meyer-Eberhardt. The scene depicts a groom breaking in a wild stallion. Signed in pencil to the lower margin. Editioned 25/100. Presented in a glazed wooden frame. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Minor foxing to the lower left corner. Some marks and light scratches to the frame.

Artist Biography

Kurt Meyer-Eberhardt was born in Leipzig in 1985 and died in Munich in 1977. He studied at the Weimar Academy of Fine Arts under Lyonel Feininger and Theodor Hagen. Declining a professorship at Weimar, he went to Munich where he decided to work on producing engravings of animals. Since 1917 he had been published by Hanfstaengl in Munich, a copper print shop, which owns the copyright to his archive and other artists' works.
