Description

A delightful 19th century genre scene showing a family gathered round a wooden cart, waiting for supper to cook. The lady's husband can be seen scything the last of the wheat to the far left, while his family rests with their donkey and dog by the river. The watercolour has been signed by the artist to the lower right. Well-presented in a fine gilt-effect frame with a wash-line mount. The mount has been printed with the artist's name and full title. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is a small chip in the gilt frame to the lower member and the watercolour has been touched up with white watercolour pencil near centre.
