There is some minor foxing and discolouration but overall the painting is in excellent condition for its age. Some very small scuffs to the frame.

Benger was a painter born in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, the son of landscape painter William Edmund Berenger (1841-1915). He studied in Antwerp under Verlat and travelled extensively in Europe, the USA, and South Africa. He was elected RBA in 1927 and showed at RA, RI, RCamA and at Liverpool's Walker Art Gallery. He also showed at the Brighton Art Gallery who in 1927 purchased one of his watercolours.
