Bartolozzi after Guercino - Original 19th Century Etching. A very good etching by Francesco Bartolozzi after a drawing by Guercino. Probably executed around 1770 but this is a 19th century printing on wove paper. The etching has been presented in a simple frame with speckled effect and gilt inner window. On wove.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There is some creasing and undulation to the wove. The original plate lines are in tact.

Francesco Bartolozzi RA (21 September 1727, in Florence – 7 March 1815, in Lisbon) was an Italian engraver, whose most productive period was spent in London. He is noted for popularizing the "crayon" method of engraving.
