Attributed John Samuel Bowles - 1845 Watercolour Lady Well at Kirklington

Attributed John Samuel Bowles - Original 1845 Watercolour. Painted on wove and fixed at the corners to backing paper. Location inscribed to backing, dated in the lower right corner. Inscribed. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including foxing and some discolouration. Adhesive in the corners of the page is slightly yellowed.

There is no indication on any of the works as to the artist. Included in the album were two old photographs of Milton Hill House as it appeared in the mid 19th century (as see in photos above). The house at that time was owned by John Samuel Bowles and that is the basis of the attribution.
