A well composed late 19th century watercolour study depicting a young woman perched on a tree trunk, looking out into the distant landscape. With areas of precise, detailed brushwork in the sky and tree line. A faded signature is visible to the lower right, possibly dated '72 or '77. Inscribed at a later date with the name WC Eddington to the reverse. On watercolour paper.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. There are very minor signs of foxing.
