A finely painted nineteenth-century portrait of a gentleman dressed in formal attire and positioned against a dark background. Although the work is unsigned, a label affixed to the reverse attributes the work to John Robert Flick (c.1806-1890), an artist from Earl Soham in Suffolk. Well presented in an ornate gilt frame.
