A street scene in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Presented in a white mount and a silver gilt-effect wooden frame. Unsigned. There is a label verso inscribed with the date, location, and name of the artist, likely copied from the reverse of the painting itself. On watercolour paper.

Condition

There is some foxing and discolouration. Overall well-presented and in good condition.

Artist Biography

George Gregory (1849-1938) was a painter from the Isle of Wight. He predominantly painted continental town scenes, seascapes, and figures. He is said to have given Queen Victoria's children painting lessons when they resided at their holiday home of Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.
