Description

A view of a figure standing on a mountain pass in the Scottish Highlands. Swathes of bracken fill the foreground and storm clouds swirl above, creating a scene with notable drama and naturalism. Signed to the lower-right edge. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

There is even discolouration to the original varnish and stable craquelure. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.

George Gray (fl.1874-1879) was a landscape artist from Kirkcaldy, Scotland. He exhibited seven works at the Society of British Artists from 1874-1879.
