Description

A charming 19th-century genre scene attributed to the London-born artist Edgar Barclay (1842–1913), depicting weary travellers pausing to rest beside a fire. Unsigned. Acquired with another by the same hand. Smartly presented in a simple frame. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

Fine craquelure and light abrasions throughout. Some discolouration to the varnish. Inspection under UV light reveals small areas of restoration. The overall condition is good. The frame is in fine condition.
