A fine watercolour study by artist Ashton Cannell, depicting a line of sailing boats tethered to the foreshore. Following the route of the river, a dockyard and crane stand tall above a distant city skyline. The watercolour has been signed in graphite to the lower right. On watercolour paper.

Artist Biography

Born in the Isle of Man, Ashton Cannell is best known as a watercolourist and teacher, who became a full-time painter in 1973. He was a member of the RSMA, BWS, Langham Sketch Club and Wapping Group, also exhibiting at the RA and Paris Salon.
