Description

A small rowing boat navigates a rocky coastline in this charming early twentieth-century oil by British artist Arthur Wilde Parsons (1854–1931). Parsons employs an expressive, painterly style, with areas of subtle impasto that provide depth and texture. The scene may have been painted in Cornwall, where Parsons took frequent painting trips. The work is signed and dated to the lower left, and is well presented in a gilt frame. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

Some small losses to the paint. Light wear to the frame. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
