Description

A striking painting depicting a busy pier with waves crashing against its side. Inscribed on the reverse- "Wild Weather. Wellesley Cottrell 1893. Painted for Edward Davenporter. B'ham. Dec-93." Signed and incsribed on the reverse. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

There is cracking to the paint and inspection under UV light reveals several areas of restoration. Varnish has been applied to stabilise cracking.
