Arthur George Bell was a London-born painter and illustrator of genre and landscape pictures. He studied at the Slade and in Paris at the École des Beaux-Arts. A prolific exhibitor, he showed at the Walker Art Gallery, Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, and Royal Institute of Oil Painters, amongst others. He was also a member of the Ipswich Fine Art Club. In 1911, he was elected as a member of the RI. Examples of his work are in the collections of the Hampshire County Council, London Transport, National Trust, and the Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum.
