Anthony de Bree (1856-1921) - 1885 Oil Stable Interior
Description
A delightfully bright late 19th-century oil by the artist Anthony de Bree (1856-1921) depicting a bustling stable, where horses and chickens roam. A mother holds her child in her arms, watching as her husband tends to the horses. Golden sunlight streams through the open doors, bathing the scene in warm radiance. Signed and dated. Beautifully presented in a swept gilt frame with ornate acanthus detailing and a velvet slip. Listed alongside a companion piece, (SV518). On panel.Condition
Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. Evidence of previous woodworm to the reverse, however the panel has been treated and is pest-free. Overall, the piece is vibrant and in very good condition for its age. Light wear to the frame including fine, stable cracking, however the overall condition is very good.
