Painter of portraits and genre pictures born in Johnshaven, Kincardineshire, Scotland. Gamely attended the Royal Scottish Academy Schools and went on to become a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour in 1924 and also exhibited at the Arlington Gallery, Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. Examples of his work are in the collections of the Royal Scottish Academy of Art & Architecture and the St. Andrews University collection Recording Scotland and the Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh.
