Artist Biography
Known to her friends as Becky she was born in New York the daughter of British artist Alice Kendall. Having won various prizes at the Edinburgh College of Art, Kendall (jnr) became a professional artist and exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, the Royal Academy of Arts, Chelsea Gallery, Guildhall London, New English Art Club, the Cooling Gallery, Chenil Gallery, Society of Scottish Artists, Society of Graphic Artists and the Paris Salon. She wrote articles, poems, illustrations and book reviews for numerous publications, including Edinburgh College Art Magazine, Strand Magazine, Punch, Art and Design, the Mail on Sunday and the Sunday Times. Kendall was a life governor of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, the founder and first editor of the Federation of British Artists Quarterly (1971-74) and President of the Society of Women Artists (1976). Her commissions included murals for the British Council and the Ministry of Labour
