Painter, draftsman, engraver. He grew up in the Academy of which his mother had been a caretaker since 1888. Training at the Academy of Mons; Engraving by Emil Motte, drawing by Antoine Bourlard in painting at Emile Motte (1890 - 1896). Works also in the workshops of Bonnat and Eugène Carrière in Paris. Prize of Rome for engraving in 1906. He stayed in Rome for two years. A renowned engraver, he marks a predilection for landscapes, still lifes, panoramas of Mons, figures and portraits. He also made engravings based on works by other masters. He was professor at the Academy of Mons from 1912 to 1947. Works in the Museum of Mons.
