A trio of modern dancers captured in the moment by visual artist Alexandra Lumley. The expressive drawing has been signed to the lower right and dated '80. Beautifully presented in a gilt-effect frame with a newly cut mount. On paper.

Artist Biography

Painter and graphic designer born in Essex, she studied at Central School of Art 1976-77 and Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts 1977-80 where she ultimately became a lecturer. Her solo exhibitions include shows Austin Desmond Fine Art, Ascot, 1982 and New Grafton Gallery, 1986. She has also held two-person shows at the New Grafton Gallery including one shared with Jacqueline Williams in 2000. Mixed exhibition venues include Royal Festival Hall, 1980, University of Copenhagen, 1980, Minories, Colchester, Thackeray Gallery, 1983, Whitechapel Open, Bankside Gallery, 1989 and the Mall Galleries where she participated in the Laing Competition in 1985. Alex Lumley has work in the collection of Homerton Hospital, East London and Hertfordshire County Council.
