A couple marvel at a splendid church in this fine etching From Alex Grieve.
The artwork has plate lines and is signed in graphite.
On wove laid to baord.The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The card the wove is laid to has bowed over time.

Painter and etcher Alexander Grieve lived in Dundee, and studied art at Dundee High School with John Duncan and Stewart Carmichael. He went on to further study at the Académie Colarossi in Paris before working in London with a publishing firm producing etchings and drawings. He returned to Dundee in 1890 to pursue a career as a landscape painter. He made many visits to France and Belgium in the late nineteenth and early twentieth-centuries and examples of his work are held in the collections of Dundee Art Galleries and Museums, Paisley Museum and Art Galleries, Perth & Kinross Council and the City of Edinburgh Council. Grieve was the Founder of the Tayport Artists Circle living in that Scottish town for many years.
