Description
The quaint village of Cockington near Torquay in Devon is depicted here in fine detail by English artist Albert Dunington (1860-1928). A man uses a yoke to carry buckets of water, whilst a woman carries a basket further down the street. Chickens graze by the dusty track, while smoke drifts from the cottage chimneys. Signed and dated to the lower right. Well presented in a gilt frame. On canvas on stretchers.Condition
The condition is good for a picture of this age. Some slight discolouration and areas of craquelure. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Scuffing and small losses to the frame.
