Artist Biography
Aingelda Redmond (b.1927) was both an artist and illustrator, and daughter-in-law of the better-known artist and children’s illustrator, Edward Ardizzone (1900-1979). Her work is in essence distinctly 'Modern British', with a focus on compositional form taking cues from mid-twentieth century art movements. Geometric elements blend with naturalistic lines in her landscapes. Redmond utilises a muted palette to allow structure to the forefront, crafting visually distilled and pleasing views with calming brushwork. This collection includes views from around the British Isles, including locations in Dorset, Kent and Northumberland. Provenance: The Ardizzone family.
