Theodore Lane (1800-1828) was a British artist best known for his satirical caricatures and humorous illustrations during the early 19th century. Trained as a miniature painter, Lane turned to printmaking and contributed works to popular periodicals and caricature prints. His style reflected the social satire of the Regency period, often depicting fashionable society with wit and exaggeration. Despite a brief career—he died at the age of 28—Lane’s work influenced the development of British graphic satire and remains of interest to historians of caricature and illustration.
