Description

An accomplished 19th century copy of Guido Reni's (1575–1642) Self-Portrait, created around 1630-1635. The portrait captures Reni as an older man with white hair, a moustache and goatee, wearing a wide-brimmed black hat and black costume with a white falling collar. The original of this work can be found in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. The painting is well presented in an oval format with a velvet-lined mount and gilt frame. Unsigned. On copper.

Condition

Light abrasions throughout. Inspection under UV light reveals small areas of overpainting. Overall the artwork is in very good condition for its age. Light wear to the frame and velvet slip.
