A scene after Rembrandt's c.1637 painting depicting a man in a brothel toasting with a pint of beer. A woman sits on his knee. This copy was painted between the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth century. Presented in the original ornate gilt-effect wooden frame with acanthus leaf moulding at the corners and a latticed cove. Unsigned. On metal.
Condition
There are some slight marks to the surface and some stable cracks to the frame. Overall in very good condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.
