This charming study of poultry takes inspiration from the work of Melchior de Hondecoeter. The lower right of the painting with the roosting hen is a copy of his work 'A Hen with Chicks, a Rooster and Pigeons in a Landscape'. Condition
There are some scratches to the surface of the paint to the bottom half of the image. There is one scratch measuring at 6cm to the upper left.

Melchior de Hondecoeter (1636-1695) was a Dutch specialist bird painter, renowned for capturing both domestic and excotic birds in stunning detail.
