A late 19th century copy of L'Indifférent after Antoine Watteau (1684-1721) painted by creative art student, Grace Grafton, whilst visiting the Louvre in 1891. The original painting entered the gallery's collection of Louis La Caze in 1869. The portrait is signed to the lower right-hand corner. Well presented in a stained red and gilt frame with bead course and laurel branch running pattern. Inscribed to the reverse is historical provenance relating to the painting. On board.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration caused by a buildup of surface dirt and nicotine. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.
