An interesting etching after the English caricaturist Henry William Bunbury (1750-1811), entitled 'Englishman at Paris 1767'. The scene depicts figures in the street with two dogs and a child, and a French gentleman behind in a carriage. Inscribed in plate 'Published 23rd Feb 1782', although this is a later print. On handmade laid paper. Unsigned and inscribed.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age. There is a closed tear near the centre of the upper half, that has been repaired. There is some light discolouration to the very edges, and the upper and lower plate marks have been cropped. The laid paper has been heavily bleached, causing it to appear whiter than usual.
