A humorous scene after the Dutch painter Gerrit Dou, This copy is a printed base on tin, over-painted in oil. The scene shows a dentist, victoriously holding up the tooth of his patient while the young man holds his mouth with blood running down his chin with an expression of agony.
The painting is unsigned and presented in a brushed gilt effect frame with a beige inner window.

There are several scratches across the paintings surface. The frame has some splitting at all internal corners.
