An effortless and fluid copy of the original portrait of "Lady Hamilton (?as a Figure in ‘Fortune Telling’). Hamilton was Romney's favorite muse and this portrait captures much of the fascination he had with her. The portrait is unsigned and presented in a very fine 19th Century frame with pierced, scrolling acanthus leaf molding and an internal gilt and wood slip. On canvas.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The frame has tarnishing to the gilt and a modern brown wax finish to the flat cove. Some losses to the surface of the flat cover at the lower edge.
