A fine 19th Century watercolour scene after the painting by George Morland (1763-1804) entitled 'A Girl with Two Calves' and originally painted in 1797. The setting depicts a farm girl standing by a barn door, with two calves, one lapping at a dish of water. Well-presented in a dark wood flat frame with beading, as shown. Unsigned. On wove.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and surface abrasion to the upper left quadrant. The frame has an area of loss to the lower right corner to the wooden beading. Scuffing and marks to the edges, as shown.
