Description

A wonderfully rustic, impressionistic scene showing a pair of thatched cottages, surrounded by rolling green hills and a blue sky. The gestural impasto technique heightens the rustic, wholesome nature of the scene. The artist has signed to the lower left corner and the painting has been presented in a contemporary gilt effect frame. On canvas.

Condition

There is a small pin hole in the upper right corner but other than this the painting is in fine condition. The frame has a large loss to the gilt effect at the top return edge, but this is only visible when viewing the painting from above, There is a small hole to the centre of the lower edge and a small amount of chipping at the corners.
