A finely painted portrait of a young gentleman by Austrian artist Adolf Boch (1853–1919). Formally attired in a black suit and bow tie, the sitter returns the viewer's gaze with an earnest expression. Faintly signed and dated to the lower right. Well presented in a black frame with a gilt outer edge and gilt rosettes on each corner. On canvas.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age, including discolouration and craquelure. Inspection under UV light reveals areas of overpainting. Marks and scuffs to the frame. Overall, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
