Description

A vibrant tropical landscape, depicting a local man fishing on the edge of a Kampong settlement. In the background a traditional Malaysian house can be seen, built of wood and raised on stilts, with a thatched roof woven from leaves. This peaceful forest scene is signed to the lower left-hand corner by the artist. On paper.

Condition

In very good condition, with only one small closed tear to the top left hand corner.

Artist Biography

A. B. Ibrahim held a solo exhibition in Dewan Besar Perniagaan Cina, Ipoh in 1962. Group exhibitions include exhibitions of Persatuan Pelukis Melayu, Singapore (1945-1970), Penang Trade Fair (1948), and 4th Malayan Artists Association Exhibition, British Council, Kuala Lumpur (1958). He was the founder member of Persatuan Pelukis Melayu, Malaya based in Singapore.
