A. Lenning - Framed Late 19th Century Oil Heading Out to Pasture
Description
An atmospheric Dutch work in oil, depicting bare winter trees along a muddy lane, with cattle clearing a puddle and a herdsman leading the animals out to pasture. The composition is captured in an impressionistic style, with a low horizon and a big, luminous sky. Well presented in a vintage wood frame. Signed lower right. On canvas.Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age. Light surface discolouration throughout, including yellowing to the varnish layer. Inspection under UV light reveals areas of previous restoration. The frame has moderate surface wear and scuffs. There is a large chip in the right-hand rail. Overall, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
