Two figures, one on horseback, pause to converse beside a humble cottage in this charming nineteenth-century landscape. A lake can be seen beyond, with mountains rising in the hazy distance. Unsigned. On canvas.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age, including discolouration and craquelure. The canvas has been relined, and inspection under UV light reveals areas of overpainting. Overall, the artwork is in good condition for its age.
