A 19th Century watercolour study of a seated Roman figure amongst the ruins. A well-proportioned drawing of a Roman soldier in a landscape of classical architecture. On wove laid to board. Unsigned.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and an overall yellowing of the surface with minor surface abrasions, as shown. There is a small closed tear to the lower left corner, and a closed tear measuring 7 cm on the upper edge, over the figures head. Loose fragment of the board to the upper edge.
