Description

A charming 19th-century watercolour in which a gentleman finds himself face to face with Melpomene, the Greek Muse of Tragedy. Initialled 'F.M.' to the lower right. Well presented in a gilt frame with a beaded inner edge. Listed alongside three others by the same hand. On paper.

Condition

Light discolouration and foxing to the paper. Light wear to the frame. Overall the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
