Description

A wonderful example of an early 19th century Victorian sampler, embroidered by the young Elizabeth Earle in 1842. The needlework piece has been well-presented in an attractive gilt-effect frame with foliate decoration and a new card mount. On linen.

Condition

The overall presentation of the sampler is very good, and the red thread is still very bright in colour. However the linen base has discoloured and the yellow thread is a little washed out.

Size

35 x 40cm (13.8" x 15.7")
Framed Size: 51 x 56cm (20.1" x 22")
