A family rest beside a row of quaint timber-framed cottages in this bucolic scene, while the crenellated tower of a church can be seen over the rooftops and trees. A label affixed to the reverse reveals that the work was given as a gift in November of 1933. Well presented in a gilt frame. Unsigned. On board.

Signs of wear consistent with age, including some discolouration and areas of craquelure. Wear along the upper margin. Scratches and scuffs to the frame. Overall, the condition is good for a picture of this age and the piece presents well.
