A fine early 19th Century silhouette portrait in crisp gouache with ink details, showing Mr Thomas Gibbs resting in a Georgian chair with his umbrella at his side. The artist has signed illegibly and dated to the lower right corner.The portrait has been handsomely presented in a reeded black frame with gilt slip and the original glazing. The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and dirtying across the surface. The frame has general scuffing and light denting to the surface and some tarnishing to the gilt slip.
