A particularly fine watercolour landscape by the British artist William Eden. Eden has masterfully captured an expansive river scene with lush green trees lining the water's edge. A fly fisherman can be picked out in this distance and the backdrop is dominated by mountains. With areas of gouache and body colour. Excellently presented in a gilt mount and an ornate gilt effect frame. Signed and dated. On watercolour paper.
Condition
The condition is good for a picture of this age. With minor discolouration and very minor foxing. There are small marks to the frame and touches of restoration to the gilt paint.
