An atmospheric watercolour study by the British artist William Tatton Winter. Depicting a sparse winter landscape with figures walking away from the viewer. Very well presented in a reeded gilt frame. Signed. On watercolour paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and minor foxing. Small marks to the frame.

Artist Biography

William Tatton Winter was born in the north of England in Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire where he studied art formally here and on the continent before eventually settling in Reigate. He received royal recognition from both Queen Victoria and Queen Mary and exhibited widely Europe-wide including the RA, RBA, NWS New Gallery.
